Year 2 have been very busy being creative this half term, the children have been inspired by the work of Grayson Perry to create wonderful clay pieces based on The Great Fire of London. Each piece is unique and imaginative and the displays in the classroom are amazing.
We also all enjoyed our Fabulous Finish dress up day as we recreated the days of the fire in dance. The children looked fantastic in their costumes as they travelled through the streets of London, pumped water to fight the fire, pulled down the houses with fire hooks and used their bodies to become the fire.
We are now enjoying Christmas learning with the children showing their skills as poets writing lovely Christmas poems as well as decorating our classroom with their super paper plate Christmas decorations. All the classes are really enjoying listening to The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher, the teachers’ favourite book to read!!
