PE and Sport
Every Primary School is given additional funding to improve PE and Sport for its pupils.
This page details how Stanford Infant School uses the Primary School PE & Sport Premium to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and Sport, so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

Skip Hop visited our school for two whole days of skipping. Each class participated in a skipping workshop, where they learnt a selection of moves, including individual moves, double-dutch, long rope, and partner skipping. The second day culminated in a demonstration of skipping skills performed by children from each class. Skip hop has presented demonstrations to over 3,500 schools throughout the UK and Ireland, China and South America. Their aim is to encourage children and adults to skip for health, fun and fitness, whilst introducing traditional skipping games back into the school playground. The school supports these aims wholeheartedly and we can’t wait to revitalise skipping in our playground!

Our vision is for the children of Stanford Infant School to develop a lifelong love of sport, physical expression, fitness and activity. We promise that we will encourage the children to aspire for greater goals, challenge themselves and others and become respectful team leaders and members. Achieving personal excellence, pushing themselves to never give up and being inclusive team members are attributes that we hope our children will take with them through life. We hope that the children of Stanford Infants will leave us with a thirst for more!
Stanford Infant School is proud to be a real legacy school and is striving to create a new ambition for EVERY child.
Not only are we on a mission to get our children more active by developing the fundamental movement skills that are so often overlooked, our PE lessons are centred around the child to enable them to be successful in the classroom and in later life.
real legacy allows us to bring the school, home and the community together to enable cultural change. Our journey commenced with real PE teacher training to support our PE provision to develop the whole child and extends across the school to include supporting families and the wider school community. The school is supported with teacher training, school based support, fun real play activities for families, enrichment and competitive opportunities and supporting resources from Create Development all through a holistic approach to also develop children’s personal, social and emotional skills.
The Primary PE and Sport Premium doubled from September 2017, this was a straight doubling of the previous formula which has allowed all schools to be able to deliver further improvements to their PE and Sport provision.
