Autumn 2
Friday 17th November - Friday Ping!
Dear Stanford Infant Families
Another week has flown by; at least we ended on a sunny day! Thank you to the fabulous PTFA Committee for organising another great Quiz Night last night. Special thanks must go to Rob and Ellie for planning and organising the quiz and to Steve for being a fabulous quiz master and managing the more competitive tables so gracefully! The PTFA Committee are now in full swing organising the Christmas Market on 2nd December.
We have celebrated National Anti-Bullying Week this week. The theme of the week was 'Make a Noise about Bullying'. During the week we have come together to have discussions about what bullying means to us, how banter can turn into something more hurtful, and what we can do to stop bullying. Each class has developed an Anti-Bullying definition; these will be displayed around the school. Our Anti-Bullying Policy will also be updated with these definitions and will be circulated to families with the Newsletter next week. Attached to this Ping is information about the whole school safety strategies we employ to ensure that everyone is equipped to keep themselves and others safe and happy at school. You can also view our Anti-Bullying Page on the School Website - https://www.stanfordinfants.co.uk/Parents/Anti-Bullying/
Next week, we will be celebrating National Road Safety Week. The theme is 'Let's Talk about SPEED'. We will be talking about road safety and why it is important, as we all use roads and it is important to talk about what we need to make sure our journeys are safe. We will be considering how everyone can take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. We can all make a difference to road safety in our community. We will be encouraging the children to be good role models, and use roads safely, asking their grown-ups to help keep them safe near roads.
We also have our 'Our City, Our World' review next week; thank you to everyone who completed the survey. We will report on the outcomes of the review and planning our next steps.
Finally, bookings for Forest School After School club starting in the Spring Term go live today, please follow this link if you would like to make a booking:

Friday 10th November- Newsletter
Dear Stanford Infant Families
We hope you have had a great week. We experienced inclement weather today and sang "whatever the weather"; however, this did not hamper 'fun' Friday. Thank you for all your support with our fun-d-raising for the Martlets - the children were a fantastic flock of sheep today!
Please find attached the latest Newsletter with information on our Anti-Bullying Week, Our City, Our World Programme, PAN Consultation, and much more! Next week is Anti-Bullying Week and we are inviting all children and staff to wear odd socks to school on Monday to celebrate how we are all unique. A letter providing more information about the week is circulated with the Newsletter. There is also a letter about the 'Our City, Our World', climate change, sustainability and environmental education programme we are engaged in.
Finally, a reminder it is the PTFA Quiz Night on Thursday night @ 7:15pm. Thank you for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend, Madeleine and all the Staff at Stanford Infants x
Friday 3rd November - Friday Ping!
Dear Stanford Infant Families
It has been lovely being back in school this week - especially to see all the children again and I am gradually remembering all their names and am beginning to learn the Reception children's names too. Reception are learning to stay safe and be happy, Year 1 are searching for their dragon, and Year 2 are historians researching the Great Fire of London.
A couple of polite reminders: Please can you kindly ensure your children use the school grounds appropriately at the beginning and end of the school day. This includes the car park and entrance(s) to the school. Miss Remnant and some volunteers have worked incredibly hard on a Saturday to begin to revamp the path leading up to the school adjacent to the car park; however, the lawn boarder has already been trampled on. It is really important that you do not park on the school keep clears or the double yellow lines, as it creates congestion, making it unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists, and very difficult for our children and their families to cross the road. Thank you for your cooperation.
Next week we begin our Open Day Tours to prospective families, culminating with an Open Morning, where prospective families can visit the school and play in the Reception communal areas. It is also the PTFA Committee Meeting on Thursday evening at 7pm. On Friday, the children are invited to come to school dressed as a sheep, or simply in black and white to raise money for the Martlets Hospice and celebrate the end of the 'Shaun by the Sea Art Trail' and imminent return of our very own little Shaun! There will be donation buckets in the playground on the day if you would like to contribute towards our fundraising goal. Alternatively, donations are very welcome via our Just Giving donations page. Keep up to date with our 'little Shaun's' journey via our website. #BrightonFlock
