Let’s Get Cooking
We are proud to be an accredited provider for ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ (set up by the Children’s Food Trust), the country’s largest network of healthy cooking clubs for children and their families. Our cooking club encourages our children and families to get cooking and we enjoy taking part in community events. Our wonderful baker, Mrs Edwards, is our cooking club expert and she works hard to inspire children to enjoy cooking. Mrs Edwards runs an After School Cookery Club for children in Year 2, always offers Cookery as a Golden Choice and dons her apron to facilitate the ‘big bake off’ for whole school PTFA events.
In 2014 we began to fulfil our culinary dream by fundraising for a brand new children’s kitchen and in the Autumn of 2015 this became reality. Star of ‘The Great British Bake Off’, Kate Henry, officially opened our kitchen by supporting the children in making one of her sugar free recipes to share with their families at our ‘Open Days’ in the summer of 2015. Everyone enjoyed the delicious and healthy truffles!
