The PTFA is our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association.
All parents/carers and staff at Stanford Infant School are automatically considered members of the PTFA. It serves an essential role, firstly by providing a sense of community and secondly by organising events that raise funds for the school to buy the extras that we would not be able to afford from the normal school budget.
How to contact us:
As a parent or carer you can request to join us on Classlist.com. This is the online communication tool for all things PTFA-related: find out about our events, meetings and how to get involved. You can also send us an email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Or catch us in the playground!
The Treasurers can now be contacted separately at:
Class Reps are a vital link between the parents and carers and the PTFA so you can always ask yours for more information.
How to find out what we are up to:
Check your emails from the school and the PTFA to find out when our committee meetings are being held and to read our minutes. Check the notice board in the lower playground, check Classlist and speak to your Class Representative.
Our most recent meeting minutes can be viewed here.
We always welcome help and support:
The PTFA welcomes all offers of help throughout the year. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who wants to get involved in our bi annual Raffle and Silent Auction and anyone who could help with design and technology. There is plenty to get involved with though, so any help is much appreciated. It’s a great way to meet people and have fun and you can get involved as little or as much as you’re able to. Please also try and come along to our termly meetings that are crucial to organising events.
The PTFA organises two major annual fundraising events; the Summer and Christmas Fayres. Additional events such as discos, film and quiz nights take place during the year.
Last year we had a fantastic series of events that resulted in a fundraising total of over £12,000. We elected a new committee for 2019/2020 at our AGM in September and hope that we see lots of new parents and carers at our meetings this academic year. Details of these and all event dates are shared on Classlist.com, sent through regular school communications and can be found on the noticeboards.
PTFA Christmas Fayre 2019
Our next, and generally biggest event of the year will be the Christmas Fayre on Sat 7th Dec 12:30 – 3:30. There are lots of opportunities to get involved and help out, just get in touch via Classlist or leave your details with the office.
We always have a great range of prizes donated to the Raffle and Silent Auction. If you think you might have something that would suit either please let us know.
You can click on the link below to see a PDF of all our sponsors from our last Summer Fayre – please do visit their websites and businesses to show your support!
What does the money buy?
Our PTFA events are key fundraisers that provide essential money for our ‘Outstanding’ school. The school increasingly relies on PTFA support to offset Government cutbacks, for example replacing funds that provide our children with a stimulating and enriched curriculum.
Funds will always be made available to subsidise school trips, replace playground items and of course keep the books available to children plentiful and up to date. The main plan for funds raised in 2019/20 will be the development of the wooded area by the top (reception) playground. The hope is to create something along Forest School lines to enhance the capacity for outdoor learning at Stanford Infants … watch this space !
