Each academic year, we hold a series of Parent Workshops to involve parents/carers in the the life of the school, enable them to gain information about what and how their child is learning in school, in order to support their child more effectively at home. At the current time, the workshops need to be delivered virtually.
Reading Workshop at Stanford
The second workshop of the academic year is the Reading Workshop for Years 1 and 2 Families. The Years 1 and 2 teachers have filmed a series of videos to detail how we develop a lifelong love of reading at Stanford Infants – we hope you find them useful. If you have any questions following the virtual workshop, please email the School Office, thank you.

Families may like to view the following videoes. The first one will allow you to hear the 42 letter sounds of Jolly Phonics, spoken in British English. Each letter sound is clearly spoken twice, before an example word is given.
The second video is the songs that accompany each letter sound, which we know you will love to sing along to at home too!
