Providing a safe, happy and secure environment for our children to thrive in is at the forefront of all we do at Stanford Infant School.  The person who leads on Safeguarding Pupils is called the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The DSL at Stanford Infants is Emma Remnant. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Madeleine Denyer, Head Teacher. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the safeguarding of pupils, you can contact our DSL’s through the School Office, either on 02173 555240 or email office@stanford-inf.brighton-hove.sch.uk.

All staff, governors and volunteers receive regular training covering all aspects of safeguarding pupils, and we have a robust programme of continuing professional development in place.

Being safe within the School Grounds and creating a safe environment is a responsibility for all staff, governors and families. To meet these responsibilities, we have policies in place to help ensure that all staff, pupils and stakeholders have a consistent approach. Our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy ensures that all our staff are trained to identify and respond to areas of concern. Training is held regularly to keep staff up-to-date with Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation and policy updates. You can view a copy by clicking on the link below:

All schools in Brighton and Hove are part of Operation Encompass. Operation Encompass is a Police and information sharing partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support for children experiencing domestic abuse. Information is shared by the Police with the school Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) prior to the start of the next school day after officers have attended an alleged domestic abuse incident, thus enabling appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the children. Please click on the link below for more information.
